#17831 Bogof Sale Question - Premium Skins

Posted by The Old Man on 26 August 2013 - 12:05 PM

My premium membership has expired, I missed the bogof sale recently so was glad to see it back. In the client centre there is a renew option for $80 but in the shop it's $125. I'm unsure which option to use. I normally only use the Halloween and Christmas themes so the bogof sale was attractive.

Many thanks.

#18210 Sapphire Journal

Posted by Uncrowned on 14 May 2014 - 12:07 PM

Also, the top tabs, that is just the primary navigation bar that is already in every skin with the IPB software. I just moved it to the top and changed how it looks. It's not a mod or anything fancy. :)

So then under custom skins and more how did you create the sub forums and make the arrows show up? It will do that by default?  Also, let me know when you get the branding_bg psd added :)

If you are talking about the drop down menus, then that is a default part of IP.Content.  For some reason IP.Content comes with a much improved menu editor then IPB does on it's own.

#18191 IBSkin Update On Flood (Plus a Sale)

Posted by Wotsit on 07 May 2014 - 04:24 AM

I drove through a flood once in a VW Beetle - It was deep enough to get my feet wet.  For months afterwards, when I braked I could hear the water sloshing around in the hollow parts.  I drilled holes eventually and drained it :)

#18136 Nowhere on this Earth are "collectible skins !

Posted by garykva on 03 April 2014 - 06:15 AM

I don't want to sticker shock anyone, that isn't my intent. I don't know who else can read this thread, but let me say I will heavily consider this. My issue is NOT the overall price of the skin. So don't take it the wrong way. I've been doing websites for many, many years and a web site has about a 5-10 second chance to grab the potential customer's attention and believe me, the professional look, appeal and layout is super important.

Your company is professional, offers a decent amount of communication and explanation of why things have to as they are, and there are very little surprises here. As many people have stated, this is one of the better skin / mod / custom sites out there and thats why I am here.

I understand the upgrade theories that IPB has on skins, and I find it kind of hard to believe that Invision Power Board itself doesn't offer custom skin makers a script to assist in adjusting/ modifying / upgrading to the latest IPB release. It would make the community work smoother and lower the hours a person has to stare at a screen and update a skin, especially if a company has produced many skins.

I may just purchase a few skins and take the banner at the top and have it modified to my liking. That should work for short term, and if the site end up becoming more successful than anticipated, there would be no reason not to intitiate a custom skin.

I am a person who is forward-thinking, trying to decipher as best as possible what a purchase like this could cost over the next 5 years or so. That's my only hesitation here. I sense that IPB 4.x will be out sooner than later, so I'll scratch my head, ponder for a bit (as I drink my thick as mud coffee - cannot function without it ! ) .

I'll move the www.minterrors.org site over to the IPB sotware, contemplate which skin(s) will look good with the theme at hand and probably purchase a few off your website for this URL. I can always add a custom skin at anytime.

Thanks Team IBSKIN for the quick replies and helpful information.

#18130 Nowhere on this Earth are "collectible skins !

Posted by Sherri on 02 April 2014 - 03:16 PM

It sounds like a great idea for a custom skin design. Here is the information you'll need to order a custom skin. :)

The total cost for a custom skin design is $400 and it is broken down in to 2 payments as follows: $200 must be paid up front as a deposit to cover the actual design and up to 3 drafts to initiate the designing and up to 3 mock-ups of the skin itself. Then the final $200 is paid when the skin is completed. It would take anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks to complete your custom skin in MOST cases, but this also depends on how many other orders are currently ahead of you, so you may wish to contact me to get a more accurate estimate on completion. Keep in mind, I NEVER give an EXACT completion date as my schedule will not permit this, but I can give you an estimate and I do everything in my power to insure that I reach my estimated date. You are kept up to date with progress reports as I see fit, along the way. I also work on daily support issues as well as my premium skins for a short time each day so I keep all customers happy at all times, so this is the reason for my allowing sufficient time to get it finished. In many cases, it's done much sooner than expected but this is not guaranteed.

Note: You are allowed up to 3 drafts/mock-ups included in this price. If you require any additional mock-ups they will be billed to you and must be paid before they are done at $25 each after you have reached your 3 that are already included in the price. These extra mock-ups are charged in addition to the cost of the custom skin, so it is important that you are very specific with your request in details for your custom skin when you submit your request form. Most customers only need 1 or 2 mock-ups, so this should not be a problem for most people. The mock-ups will contain only the core elements (forum layout, logo/header, category box & icons) to start. All other elements and text will not be visible until the actual skinning process has begun live here on our forums.

For this price, you can expect to receive a skin that is designed to work with all of the latest versions of these applications straight out of the box...

  • IP.Board
  • IP.Nexus
  • IP.Content
  • IP.Downloads
  • IP.Gallery
  • IP.Blog
  • IP.Calendar
  • IP.Chat
  • IP.Shoutbox
  • IP.Tracker
  • IBProArcade

Plus, I can make it to work with any other 3rd party mods/apps you may have installed but please keep in mind that the 3rd party mods must be skinned directly on your site so this is done after final payment is made because the skin would already be live on your site for me to do this.

The cost also includes up to 3 design drafts / mock-ups during the initial designing process as well as up to 3 change orders during the skinning process. A change order can have as many changes in it as you desire. I like to recommend that you make a list of changes/edits and send them to me all at once, so this only counts as one change order.

During the design process you will be able to watch your custom skin being built live on the IBSkin forums. This way, you are fully aware of the progress I am making at all times and you can review every element of the skin as it functions live. I also keep an active line of communication at all times, mostly through email unless you prefer phone contact, which is also good.

When the custom skin is done, you receive ALL psd files for the skin as well as any fonts I use.

Also included in the price is:

  • 30 days free support
  • Matching team / group icons
  • Meta image (This is your signature image like a banner that shows up on facebook, etc. when your link is used)

*Any additional items will require additional charges.

Future Upgrades & Pricing
Minor upgrades such as IPB 3.3.3 to IPB 3.3.4 would cost $50, however, you get 30 days free support to include minor upgrades, from the time your skin is completed, so if a new minor upgrade to the IPB software is released within 30 days of your skin being completed for you, I will upgrade it for free. This is for minor upgrades only. (such as IPB 3.3.4 to IPB 3.3.5)
Major upgrades such as IPB 3.3.4 to IPB 3.4 OR IPB 4.0 would cost anywhere from $75 to $200 depending on the amount of upgrade edits required as in some cases, the upgrade is so dramatic that it is faster and easier just to completely re-write the skin and use the same images of course, in a major upgrade, this is why the higher cost. Unfortunately there is no way to know what type of upgrade is needed until after the IPB upgrade has been released and I have time to review the skin edits required to upgrade the skin.

#18128 Nowhere on this Earth are "collectible skins !

Posted by garykva on 31 March 2014 - 11:44 AM

I own a few collectables web sites and no where are there skins for the collector sites.

None for sports autographs and memorabilia

None for coins, silver and gold.

Lately, I was looking for a snappy Coin and Coin Variety skin that shows coins like the

1955 Lincoln Cent Doubled Die

1941/42 Mercury Dime

1972 Lincoln Cent Doubled Die

1895 Morgan Silver Dollar Proof Coin

1969-S Lincoln Cent Doubled Die

A few different dramatic looking mint mark varieties like on pennies that have double, triple or more mint marks on top of each other. (eg; 1959-D Lincoln Cent close up of the D/D/D)

And other scarce coin rarities. This doesn't have to be overburdened with variety coins, but it needs to hit home.

I plan on adding Nexus to my IPB suite and starting a website called www.minterrors.org and finding an affordable skin - or any coin skin for that matter - is quite rare. I wonder why that is ? Same applies for Sports Memorabilia, Sports Cards and other items that the collectors to this day seem to drool over.

I understand skins can take some time and effort, and you all probably have templates made and can adjust it some, taking out some pictures and adding alternate ones in. Overall I am not picky on the design, but I want the font size similar to this, and the back ground color and text easy on the eyes. I will probably have people spending up to 8+ hours a day staring at screens and filling orders, and the less high phosphorous levels the better.

Most of the coins that will be posted ought to be Copper and Silver. There might be a few Gold coins in there, but not many.

Picture auto-resizing would be cool, keeping the aspect ratio, say no larger than 3/4 width of the forum window.

I have not seen anything like this on your site, or any other, minus the bland looking website at http://www.coincommu....asp?FORUM_ID=5

That's the general idea of the web forum area I want to create, but with a WAY snappier and professional looking design.

How much you guys going to sock me for something in this description?      = Þ

#17922 Change the logo

Posted by Wotsit on 06 November 2013 - 02:28 PM

I use Photoshop and manage to do text changes using the supplied .psd.  Other than that I employ Sherri because I can only draw matchstickmen LOL.  You'll see the various choices in the Skin Shop.  I don't know how but, if I did, it would be taking bread and butter off of Sherri's table if I told you :)

#17815 small screen compatibility

Posted by Sherri on 12 August 2013 - 04:27 PM

This is caused from the large logo.png images on the forum header.

If you need your skin to work better with small screens you can simply shorten the width of your logo.png after you purchase the skin and it will work just fine.

If it's a skin with a 2 logo header (left and right sides both) you can simply remove the right side logo and it will work fine with all small screens.

We plan to do this already with 99% of our skins with the IPB 4.0 series skins next year. The only skin we can not do this with is the "Infusion" skin.

#17302 Will skins for 3.4.1 work on 3.4.2?

Posted by Wotsit on 25 January 2013 - 09:34 AM

There are a few skin changes but I haven't noticed anything yet on my one 3.4.2 forum with the skins I have installed.  As soon as we've finished upgrading the skins here to 3.4.1 then we'll start upgrading them to 3.4.2 so, in the unlikely event that you have something not working, it won't be long before they're done.

#17180 How works an update ?

Posted by Uncrowned on 08 January 2013 - 11:06 AM

Premium member only cover the cost of the skins and any new/different versions of the skins.  Any kind of custom work needed on images to use French would cost the same as a basic account.  Most of the images that would need to be changed can be found here for prices: http://www.ibskin.co...d-ons-services/
